Do you sell ice or other goods?
Yes, we do sell ice at the office. No other goods are offered at this time.
Do you rent motor boats or kayaks?
Yes we do rent kayaks, but we do not rent motor boats. Small Kayaks For Rent | Large Kayaks For Rent
Do you allow pets?
Yes, some but not all of our homes are pet friendly. There is an additional fee for all pets. For more information on our Policies page.
Are the linens and towels provided?
Yes, there are bath towels and lake towels provided. The bath towels are located in the bathrooms. Please do not take these to the lake. The towels that are for use on the lake are on top of the dryer. These are not huge beach towels, but are for your use on the lake. Please see the attached policy regarding towels.
All linens are provided for the beds and pull out sofas.
What is provided for your use in the kitchen?
You are provided with a well equipped kitchen containing plates, bowls, cups, silverware and cooking utensils/pots. Additionally, you are provided with one container of salt and pepper, one roll of paper towels, one small container of dish soap, a small amount of laundry soap, a couple of trash bags, and a dish rag. Please do not use your washcloths from the bathrooms for dishrags.
Is coffee provided for you?
All units have coffee pots, but coffee or creamer is not provided. You can purchase this at the local covenant store, Hookers, just down the street. If you happen to get in late and have not brought coffee with you, just come to the office and feel free to make you a cup until you can get to the store.
Is there wifi available?
No, there is no public wifi avaliable within the park area. Please stayed tuned as this may change in the near future.
Are there smoking units?
No. Smoking is not allowed in any of the units. All smoking must be done outside and trash properly disposed. Evidence of smoking inside will result in a minimum of $500.00 fine.
Where do you get boat permits?
Daily boat permits are $10.00 per day and can be purchased at the ranger station at the Rough Canyon Boat Ramp. These are paper receipts. Yearly permits are $40.00. You must pick up your yearly sticker permit at the the National Park Visitor Center off of Hwy 90 West. Call 830-775-7491 for more information.
Are there restaurants out at Rough Canyon?
Yes. Hookers One Stop has a large variety on the daily menu. It also provides gas and convenient store items.
Do you have any boat rentals or boat slips?
We do not have any boat rentals and we do not manage the boat slips at the dock. Please contact the National Park Service at 830-775-7491 for more information about boat slips.
What time is check out?
Check out is at 11:00 am.
What is the cancellation fee?
Any of the homes are subject to a $50.00 cancellation on anything out side of 7 days of your arrival. Any cancellation within the 7 days of your arrival will result in loss of the full night that was paid as a deposit. See attached policy for if further details are needed.

What are the driving directions coming from Del Rio to Ruthies?
If coming in from Del Rio, you will go on 277 N, towards Sonora. you go approx. 6.9 miles and look for the sign that says Rough Canyon Boat Ramp/Recreational Park. Turn left onto Texas R.2. We are 6.7 miles down on the right. If your coming in from Sonora, you will stay on Hwy 277 until you see the border patrol check station. From there the turn off is approx 8 miles. Turn right on Tx Road 2 (Rough Canyon) and go another 7 miles. Ruthies is located on your right hand side.
Who should I contact if I have a medical emergency?
Please call 911 and give them the address of 6748 Texas R2, Del Rio, TX 78840. You can tell them that you are staying at Ruthies Vacation Rentals in Rough Canyon and the number of the unit you are staying in. If you need additional assistance, please call the office.
Please be careful driving to our location during dusk, evening and dawn as there are numerous deer that could pose a potential risk to you and your loved ones.
